Norwich are close to signing former Hamilton Academical goalkeeper Michael McGovern after he rejected a new contract, the Sunday Mail claims.
McGovern impressed many fans and pundits with his excellent showings for Northern Ireland at Euro 2016 and he has rejected the opportunity to extend his contract with the Scottish club, making him a free agent.
Yesterday, Norwich sent youth ‘keeper Remi Matthews on loan to Accies, which could signal that Hamilton have accepted the loss of McGovern.

Hamilton is, of course, the club from which Norwich took manager Alex Neil and relations between the two sides have been friendly with Accies having taken City striker Carlton Morris on loan last year. Morris impressed, scoring eight goals in his 33 appearances for the Scottish outfit.
Alex Neil confirmed yesterday that third-choice goalkeeper Jake Kean would be leaving the club, with reports indicating that Sheffield Wednesday is his destination. When asked by a reporter about the fact he would only have two senior ‘keepers left, Neil said:
I’ll be addressing that in the next few days/week.
