Norwich City new boy Ivo Pinto never considered a quick summer exit despite relegation, reported in the EDP.
The Portuguese right back is already looking forward to a Championship promotion push, starting at Blackburn on August 6.
“No, never. I signed to Norwich to help the club. Obviously as a team at the end of last season we didn’t succeed. But now we must fight for the future. I want to help the club and I believe we can go again in the Premier League. I hope to play even better this season to help this family.”
“For me it is a big family and that’s why I am working every day to be better as a player and a person. I can’t wait any more. All the players have this feeling. We want to attack the promotion. We are working really, really well and if we do our job at the end of the season we will be there. I know it is a tough league. Everybody has been telling me that but I am ready for it.”

Pinto is hoping to use his country’s success at Euro 2016 to motivate himself for more success at club level.
“It was amazing. No words for that. Everyone was saying they didn’t deserve it but if you win in football at the end they you deserve it. Probably we didn’t play the best football we have shown in the last few years but now we are champions. No-one in 10 years will remember that.”
“I jumped up when we scored. It was funny because my wife was texting me and I was saying Eder would go into the game and score. It was unbelievable for him. I was with him before in the national team. All the country stopped. It was the first big title for our nation. Of course I have my objectives and my goals and if I help this club I can get to the national team.”

The 26-year-old was also a central figure in the unveiling of the club’s new away kit and training facilities at Colney, which he believes will be a key part of a successful campaign this season.
“I think we are already one step in front of the other teams,” he said. “The kit is beautiful and we are really happy with this kit. The first impression is always the biggest one and we are really impressed.”
