Norwich Chief Executive steps down

Norwich City have announced via their official website that the resignation of the club’s Chief Executive David McNally has been accepted by the board.

Talk of McNally’s exit has been rife over the last few days after he sent out a tweet, one that was soon deleted, saying that he was about to resign from the club.

The club also announced that current Director of Finance, Steve Stone, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive until a permanent replacement can be found, although the search will probably only start once the season is over and the club know which division they will be competing in next season.

McNally joined Norwich in the summer of 2009 and has been part of the board as they helped steer the club through difficult financial times and from League One into the Premier League.

Canary fans will hope that the changes in the boardroom won’t affect manager Alex Neil or his players as they prepare for a huge week.
