After weeks of speculation, Norwich striker Kyle Lafferty has finally gotten his move away from Carrow Road after joining Championship side Birmingham on loan until the end of the season.
While initially only being a loan deal, it’s believed it will be followed up in the summer with a permanent move to the Championship promotion hopefuls if he does well enough.
Despite being linked with Yorkshire’s sleeping giants, Leeds United, earlier on in the month, the Northern Ireland international has decided to join a side much more likely to have a strong end to the season in Birmingham.
Despite his incredible form and becoming the talisman in his country’s charge for their first major tournament since 1986, Lafferty has only played 13 minutes of football in the Premier League this season.
Lafferty reiterated on a number of occasions in the past of fighting for his place in the Norwich side. But despite the poor form of those in front of him in the pecking order, he’s been forced into dropping down a league to get the game time he desperately needs to be on form for the summer.
Although he didn’t make much of an impact on the pitch, the overwhelming majority of the Norwich faithful will be wishing him well, and will be cheering him on from their TV screens in the summer.
