Defender Timm Klose told the local press that he was “not completely happy” with his debut performance for the Canaries in a 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at Carrow Road.
The Swiss replaced Russell Martin as centre-back in the starting line-up after City’s 4-5 defeat against Liverpool, but saw his debut marred by an early goal from Dele Alli and a double from Harry Kane, including a controversial penalty.
Whilst speaking to Norwich City TV, the 27-year-old said he and his new teammates must improve in order to collect vital points in City’s survival push, before repeating the words of his manager when he came to the early goal.
We’re very disappointed because we conceded goals too easily. That’s what killed us today, even though we were good at points in the second half. You go into the match with a game plan and going down 1-0 early on changed things. It gave them the chance to play how they wanted to, which made things hard for us. They pressed high and gave us very little time on the ball.
Klose, who’s spent a large chunk of his career in the German league, believes he has things to improve on as he adjusts to a new level of football.
I’m not completely happy with my performance, and I know I have things to work on in order to reach the next level.

Klose also spoke about City’s upcoming game against Premier League strugglers, Aston Villa, where he hopes he and his new club will have better fortunes as they fight for vital points.
There’s a lot of quality in our team and I’m confident we can produce a good performance. We have to be prepared because it’s an important game. There’s going to be pressure, that’s for sure, but as football players it’s our job to go there and fight. If we want to stay in the league, we have to win games like this, or at least not lose them.
