Norwich and Swansea want to sign Chelsea star

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, who started the season on loan at Crystal Palace, is a transfer target for both Norwich City and Swansea City, according to Alex Richards of The Mirror.

Bamford, who was a regular in the Middlesborough side that narrowly missed out on promotion last season, made just six Premier League appearances for Alan Pardew’s side, all of which came from the substitute’s bench.

The reason the striker went out on loan was to get regular playing time that was unlikely to come his way at Chelsea, so he was obviously frustrated to not see more action at Selhurst Park, and thus decided to end the loan deal early and return back to Stamford Bridge.

However, he has not had an opportunity to play for Chelsea since his return, probably because if he did play, he could not play for another Premier League club this season.

According to the report, both Norwich and Swansea want to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent deal as they look to add depth to their squads as they battle to stay in the top flight.
