Lafferty linked with Leeds switch

Norwich striker Kyle Lafferty has again been linked with a potential switch to Leeds United, with the Yorkshire club apparently being given the go ahead to swoop for the Northern Ireland star.

Lafferty has cut an increasingly frustrated figure this season, accruing just four appearances in all competitions, as manager Alex Neil has continued to favour other forwards.

The striker, who notched seven goals and one assist in nine appearances for his country during their successful qualification for Euro 2016, has previously spoken of his desire for regular first-team football and has admitted that he may have to examine options elsewhere.

I’m going to have to sit down with the manager in January and have a discussion with him. I know that I will need to play football in the new year and going into the Euros.

Leeds were rumoured to be interested in signing the 28-year-old during the summer, but then manager Uwe Rosler ultimately decided against making an offer for the player.

However, new boss Steve Evans could be set to bid for Lafferty, as he looks to bolster his forward options following a disappointing start to their season which has seen Leeds find the back of the net on just 16 occasions.
