Bradley Johnson could return to the Championship with a move to Derby County.
It has emerged on the brink of the transfer window’s closure that Derby are plotting a move for fans’ favourite Bradley Johnson, as reported by Hamish Mackay of The Mirror. The Englishman joined the Canaries from Leeds in 2011 on a free transfer, signing a 3-year contract with the club. The move would see a popular face among the fans at Norwich fly from the nest after five successful years at Carrow Road.
During City’s 14/15 Championship campaign, Johnson was one the Canaries’ most influential players, of whom played an ever so significant role in helping Norwich gain promotion back to the top-flight of English football. With Norwich now playing in the Premier League once more, the former Leeds man has struggled to make the cut, resulting in a lack of minutes. He has often found himself among the subs so far this season, posing the question as to whether Johnson is good enough for the Premier League. His time at Carrow Road could be coming to an end.
As a result of his lack of game time, Derby are ready to swoop. Time will tell, but one thing is for sure, Johnson will forever live in Norwich fans’ hearts for his incredible promotion season.
