Tuesday’s friendly against Hinckley saw the reveal of Norwich’s 2015-16 away kit, again made by Errea and sponsored by Aviva. The kit sees the return of green to the City away shirt for the first time in three years, and has yellow pinstripes for the detailing.
The kit also features the now infamous Aviva box, now available in green…
The main concern, however, isn’t with this box but the colours that are hardly a contrast to the home shirt. A lack of contrast probably led to the club creating a third kit for the first time in their history.
The away goalkeeper kit is also…bright pink. It’s certainly not as bad as some of the famous ‘90s goalkeeper shirts, but I’m not a particular fan of the fluorescent shirts this season.
Personally, I like the new away kit. It looks smart and compared to last years terrible burgundy effort, it’s amazing. However, it’s another case of deja vu, with the kit looking 10 times better without the Aviva box, in my opinion.
Here’s how a few of our writers, and you on Twitter, reacted to the shirt:
“The new away kit is really nice–Aviva block aside. I always thought South Africa made it work, so I have no doubt Norwich will do the same. This might be the first away kit I actually purchase!” -Charlie Hatch, Editor, Read Norwich
“I really like the kit. It looks really sharp on the players and would go well with jeans from a shirt perspective.” -Henry Miller, Writer, Read Norwich
“I am a lover of a green kit, nothing to strange like last season. Very smart with the subtle hints of yellow. However, overall the kit isn’t particularly exciting. It’s simple and overused design showing Errea’s lack of quality and design knowledge.” -Jacob Sinkins, Writer, Read Norwich
