Javier Garrido will not play a part in Norwich City’s Premier League campaign after stating today on Twitter that his time at the Canaries is over after 3 years at the club.
Garrido had the option to sign a one year contract extension which would take him up to the end of next season but a mutual agreement with the club means that this offer will not be taken up.
Javier Garrido signed for the club on 16th August 2012 on a season long loan from Lazio before making the move permanent. Garrido said when he joined the club that it was an ‘easy decision’ to make coming to the Norfolk club.
One of Garrido’s most famous Norwich City moments was delivering the wonderful cross for Pilkington to head home against Manchester United and to set up a famous win against Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.
Garrido made 46 apperences for the club over 3 seasons scoring 0 goals. He was a huge part of the 2012-13 Premier League season but has since fallen out of favour due to Olsson’s arrival at the club.
From all of us at Read Norwich we would like to thank Javier for his hard work at the club and the success he brought. Also, we loved the chant: “he eats paella he knows he’s a Yella”
Thank u to everyone they have been involved in those 3 years at @NorwichCityFC . My time here its over.. New challenge ahead now..!
