After a few days of non-stop Mike Phelan talk it seems there could be a new man to take the hot seat at Carrow Road – Alex Neil.
Many people including myself have never heard of him, so here are the main bits of information to keep you up to track with the man from Scotland.
Alex Neil started his career in 1999 at Airdrieonians where he made just 16 appearances, before securing a move to Barnsley in 2000 where he made an impressive 121 appearances. He has since played for Mansfield and of course Hamilton Academical where he is most famous for his work.
After a successful playing career for Hamilton and becoming a true fans’ favourite he was made player manager after Billy Reid vacated his job.
In Neil’s first season he led Hamilton onto promotion via the play offs. This season, Hamilton currently lie 3rd and have beaten Celtic along the way.
It’s fair to say Alex Neil might not be one of the most well-known names in football but he’s doing a very good job in Scotland and is a true fans’ favourite with the Accies faithful.
We all want something a bit different from what seemed to be a certain new manager in Mike Phelan. Alex Neil could be that man after bookies slashed his odds and now appears favourite to become next Norwich City manager. Hamilton has given Norwich permission to speak to Alex Neil and another statement will be made tomorrow.
