Norwich City have made an enquiry for Cercle Brugge’s Lawrence Agyekum as Philippe Clement bolsters his midfield options ahead of the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian midfielder has attracted interest from multiple clubs this summer. According to Inside Futbol and Belgian football media, the Canaries are exploring a deal for Agyekum, who can operate as either a winger or wing-back, giving managers tactical flexibility in attacking areas.
Cercle Brugge are reportedly willing to let Agyekum depart this window, but Norwich face competition from Austrian side Rapid Vienna for his signature. The midfielder remains under contract in Belgium until 2029, meaning any deal would require a substantial transfer fee rather than a cut-price arrangement.
Agyekum spent the majority of last season deployed on the right wing, impressing with his versatility and work rate. His ability to cover multiple attacking positions aligns with Clement’s recruitment strategy, as the Canaries look to add creativity and depth to their engine room following Josh Sargent’s departure to Toronto FC earlier this summer.
The enquiry marks Norwich’s continued activity in the transfer market, with the club also weighing up options at left-back following increased interest in George Bello, whose fresh LASK contract extension to 2027 has complicated that pursuit.
