Norwich City have confirmed their pre-season friendly against FC St. Gallen will be streamed live on Canaries TV this Friday.
According to an announcement on the club’s official website, supporters unable to make the trip to Switzerland will be able to follow the Kybunpark clash from home, with Philippe Clement using the fixture as his squad’s final away test before the new Championship season gets under way.
Philippe Clement Faces Final St. Gallen Test Before Season Opener
Norwich travel to face the two-time Swiss champions on Friday, July 17, with kick-off set for 7pm UK time. It is Norwich’s first trip to Switzerland since 1978 and their only overseas fixture of this summer’s pre-season programme, according to the Pink Un.
The match follows a controlled 2-0 win over King’s Lynn Town and a goalless draw with Colchester United in Clement’s first two run-outs since taking charge, giving the head coach a sterner examination against senior European opposition before the campaign begins in earnest.
St. Gallen have their own reasons to treat the fixture seriously. The Swiss side face Portuguese giants Benfica in Europa League qualifying on July 23, meaning Friday’s meeting with Norwich doubles as their final warm-up before that tie, with the Pink Un reporting their domestic league campaign starts on July 26.
Norwich’s own competitive season begins soon after, with Clement’s side hosting the Championship opener against West Brom on August 15, with the Pink Un reporting a training camp in London to follow the Switzerland trip.
