Norwich City Handed West Brom Home Opener In Championship Fixture Release

Norwich City will kick off their 2026/27 Championship season at home to West Brom as Philippe Clement’s side aim to put themselves in the promotion picture.

The Canaries’ official fixture list shows West Brom visiting Carrow Road on Saturday 15 August, with kick-off currently listed for 3pm.

That gives Clement a useful opening marker before the rhythm of the new campaign takes hold.

Norwich then travel to Millwall on Saturday 22 August before hosting Burnley on Saturday 29 August. Their early September schedule also includes a midweek trip to Stoke City.

Clement Gets Immediate Carrow Road Standard

The West Brom opener gives Norwich a home platform, but it also removes any gentle start.

Albion should offer a useful measure of where Clement’s squad stands after a full pre-season, especially with the Canaries trying to turn last season’s strong finish into a genuine promotion push.

ReadNorwich had already covered how the fixture-release date gave Clement a clear planning point, and the list now gives that planning real shape.

The early run matters because Norwich need momentum quickly.

A home opener against West Brom, followed by Millwall away and Burnley at Carrow Road, should tell Clement plenty about his side’s physical level, midfield balance and defensive control.

ReadNorwich has also looked at how Norwich’s pre-season schedule gives Clement a clear runway, and that preparation now has a defined league target.

For supporters, the message is simple.

The rebuild starts at Carrow Road, and West Brom will provide the first serious test of whether Norwich are ready to look upward from day one.
