Norwich City Confirm Andre Brooks Signing From Sheffield United

Norwich City have confirmed the signing of Andre Brooks from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old winger has signed a five-year deal and will join Philippe Clement’s squad for the first full day of pre-season training on Friday.

Brooks arrives after a strong individual campaign at Bramall Lane, where he was voted Sheffield United’s Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

Norwich say he registered six goals and three assists across 39 league appearances last season.

That gives Clement another wide option before the main block of summer work begins.

Brooks Gives Clement A Two-Way Wide Option

Brooks joined Sheffield United’s academy at the age of eight and came through the Blades’ youth system.

He was also once a teammate of current Norwich full-back Lucien Mahovo, which adds a useful connection inside the squad.

The Jamaica international made his senior international debut in March, coming on as a substitute in a World Cup qualifying win over New Caledonia.

Speaking to Norwich’s official website, Brooks said he is “absolutely ready for the challenge ahead” and believes Clement will want him to play on both sides, attack and defend.

That line matters.

ReadNorwich has already covered how Clement’s opening Championship run will test the shape of his rebuild, and Brooks fits the type of profile Norwich need before that run starts.

He gives Clement pace, width and a player who already understands the Championship rhythm.

Sporting director Ben Knapper described Brooks as an “extremely exciting and talented player” with technical quality, athleticism and growth potential.

For Norwich, that is the key balance.

Brooks is not a finished product, but he is not a pure development punt either.

He has senior Championship output, Premier League exposure and the age profile to improve inside Clement’s structure.

ReadNorwich has also looked at how Norwich’s pre-season schedule gives Clement a clear runway, and Brooks now joins that work from the start.

That timing should help.

If Norwich want to carry last season’s momentum into a promotion push, Clement needs his wide players drilled early.

Brooks gives him another option with energy, flexibility and room to grow.
