Norwich head coach Daniel Farke has revealed that he does not expect to win games in the Premier League.
Farke says that Norwich cannot expect to pick up points in this division because they are unable to afford ‘£10m or £20m players’ to bolster the quality of the squad.
Speaking to The Pink’Un, Farke said:
We can’t expect wins because we don’t bring in £10m or £20m players. If we did then we could be a bit more strict. We simply have to back our players, back our young lads and that is what we are trying to do. That is our way.

Farke’s comments certainly make sense, given that only Liverpool spent less money in the summer transfer window than Norwich.
According to talkSPORT, Norwich’s spend of just £3.65m was only beaten to last place by Liverpool spending £1.3m on one player.
Unlike Liverpool, Norwich, did not already have the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and Alisson to call upon, so they were already at a financial disadvantage heading into the season.
Norwich have, instead, relied on youth throughout the campaign. Academy products Ben Godfrey, Jamal Lewis, Max Aarons, Todd Cantwell and Adam Idah have all been involved this season, showing that Farke is prepared to give youth a chance to make up for the lack of investment.
Cantwell, in particular, has stood out and has scored six goals in the Premier League so far this season, while also registering two assists.
Although it has not worked miracles, with Norwich currently bottom of the Premier League, it does offer some positivity in the long-run – due to the talented young players the club have in the squad. They can learn from the experiences they have gathered this season and use them to develop and progress as players, readying themselves for another promotion push if Norwich are relegated to the second tier.
