Norwich have reportedly held informal talks over a new contract for midfielder Alex Tettey.
According to Michael Bailey of The Athletic, Norwich have been in discussions with Tettey over the possibility of him signing a one-year contract extension with the club.
The report claims that Tettey is set to be a free agent in the summer and that Norwich are keen to keep him at Carrow Road.

Despite turning 34 later this season, Tettey remains a key member of Norwich’s team in the Premier League. He has started 17 games so far, highlighting how much Daniel Farke depends on him in the holding midfield position. This shows that Tettey still has something to offer, as he is able to play regular minutes at Premier League level.
Norwich signed 19-year-old defensive midfielder Melvin Sitti in January, but have loaned him back to the club they bought him from. This means that he is due to arrive at Carrow Road in the summer and Tettey could prove vital in his development.
If Norwich are able to keep Tettey at the club, he could take Sitti under his wing and help him adjust to life in the Championship – or the Premier League – if Norwich somehow manage to survive.
Tettey’s experience on and off the pitch could still be an asset for Norwich in whichever division they find themselves in next season, which is why keeping him could be a clever move by the club.
Even if he is not starting the majority of games, his influence on the players around him and his leadership skills could be enough to warrant his place in the squad.
