Norwich have officially confirmed the signing of defender Sam McCallum from Coventry on a permanent deal.
McCallum has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Canaries and has been sent back on loan to Coventry for the rest of the season. He has been a regular in League One this term and will now have the chance to see out the campaign before coming to Norwich in the summer.

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein claimed earlier this week that Norwich had beaten a number of clubs for his signature. The likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa and Bournemouth were all said to be keen on the left-back.

McCallum is Norwich’s fourth signing of the January transfer window. The club had already completed deals for Ondrej Duda, on loan from Hertha Berlin, as well as permanent moves for Lukas Rupp and Melvin Sitti – with the latter going back out on loan until the end of the season.
Norwich now travel away to Newcastle on Saturday as they look to close the gap on 17th-placed West Ham. The Canaries are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and six points adrift of safety.
