Norwich City forward Dennis Srbeny is closing in on a return to Bundesliga club Paderborn this month.
According to German outlet Kicker, via Sport Witness, the move “should” go through, with Srbeny poised to agree to the switch.
The report does not state outright whether it would be a loan or a permanent transfer, simply stating that he should sign for Paderborn before the end of the window.

Srbeny leaving would not be a huge shock, simply given his playing time over the last 18 months. He has failed to make a start in the league since the 2017/18 season, when he scored once in 14 appearances in the Championship. He then scored one in 15 last term and is currently on one in eight in the Premier League.
This means that he has scored three league goals in 37 appearances since joining the club from Paderborn in January 2017. Despite most of his games coming off the bench, it is hardly a statistic that puts him in with a shout of staying at the club in the Premier League. With Adam Idah scoring a hat-trick against Preston, making him Norwich’s third top-scorer this season, it could also put Srbeny further down the pecking order heading into the second-half of the campaign.
Paderborn are rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga, much like Norwich are in the Premier League, and Srbeny may feel as though he can play regular games over in Germany. It seems like a move which would work out for all parties involved, with Norwich offloading a fringe player and saving wages, Srbeny playing regular top-flight football and Paderborn strengthening their squad.
