Norwich City have been dealt a huge blow as Ben Godfrey is set to be out until February with an ACL injury.
Daniel Farke has confirmed that Godfrey will be absent for up to six weeks after suffering a tear in his ACL, although no surgery is required for the young defender.

Godfrey has been linked with a move to Tottenham in January, with Norwich said to be holding out for a fee in the region of £25m.

With Godfrey now out, Norwich need to find a solution at centre-back. Grant Hanley is the only other natural centre-back who can step in, but he proved earlier in the season that he can hardly be relied upon as a long-term replacement – with costly errors against Liverpool and Chelsea and a poor display against Newcastle. Ibrahim Amadou is another option, but he is a natural defensive midfielder and struggled as a makeshift centre-back – despite a couple of good performances.
Luckily for Norwich, they only have three more games before the transfer window opens, although there is a game on New Year’s Day, of course, which means that they can look to remedy the situation with a new signing. The club will have to move quickly, or the threat of relegation will only loom larger.
