Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber has revealed that he wants the club to become established in the Premier League.
Webber says that they do not have massive expectations for the current season but are still aiming to be established in the top-fight, even if that means going down for another year.
Speaking to The Pink’Un, Webber said this:
This season is going to be very hard but all we want is not to have any regrets at the end of it. That is key for us. We don’t have any massive expectations.
Our aim is to become established in the Premier League. Whether that is by going down and coming back then it might be the case. We don’t want that to happen. Our aim is to be a top 25 club in the country. That won’t change, whether this season goes to plan or not. We will keep the strategy and keep working hard.

Is that aim realistic with the current set-up behind the scenes? On current showing, no. Norwich did not have the funds to compete with any other Premier League side in the summer transfer window, with every other club signing at least one player who cost more than all of Norwich’s signings combined – that is what they are up against.
The facts are that Delia Smith is the poorest owner in the league, by quite some distance – putting it lightly – and Norwich are always going to be well behind the rest of the division without investment. This is not a call for Delia to sell up and leave, but if she – and the club – is serious about wanting to stay in the Premier League then it has to be considered.
No one wants someone to come in and ruin the club, like we have seen with the likes of Blackpool, Portsmouth and Sunderland, but there are also great examples of good owners investing in clubs – like Leicester, Wolves and Bournemouth.
