Norwich City have been scouting Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Sport Cz, via HITC, Norwich have been keeping tabs on the defensive midfielder, who has impressed in Russia this season.
The report claims that Newcastle and Burnley are also interested in Kral, which means that Norwich could have stiff competition for his signature.

Do Norwich need another defensive midfielder?

Possibly. It all depends on the state of Norwich’s injuries come the January transfer window. If the likes of Grant Hanley and Christoph Zimmermann are still out and Ibrahim Amadou has to continue at centre-back, a defensive midfielder could be a shrewd addition.
However, if Zimmermann is back in the team and Amadou is able to play in his more natural position of holding midfield, there would be little need for Norwich to splash out on Kral. The Czech international has been capped seven times by his country, at the age of 21, and only joined Moscow in the summer for £10m from Slavia Prague.
Given that they would likely want to make profit on Kral if he were to leave in January, it is unlikely that Norwich would be able to afford him. After spending £750k on permanent transfer fees in the summer, it is clear to see that Norwich would not be able to break their transfer record for Kral without first selling one of their own players.
