Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger made his return from injury this week as he played against Liverpool in an under-23 clash.
The German defender has been out of action since April, missing Chelsea’s start to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

However, his involvement in the 3-0 win over Liverpool for Chelsea’s under-23’s indicates that he is close to returning to the first-team squad.

Should Daniel Farke be concerned by Rudiger’s potential return?
Yes. Chelsea have looked far too open at the back in the opening two Premier League matches, losing 4-0 to Manchester United and drawing 1-1 with Leicester, whilst playing Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma as their centre-backs.
With Norwich hosting Chelsea at Carrow Road on Saturday, Farke will surely be hoping that the same defence which has struggled in recent weeks is on show in order to give his side the best chance of coming away with something from the game.
Rudiger was a regular for Chelsea in defence last season, playing 33 times in the league, which suggests that he would be an improvement on the current options Frank Lampard has at his disposal.
