Norwich City’s Premier League campaign started with a 4-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Friday.
The Canaries, however, remain outside of the relegation zone after heavy defeats for West Ham, Southampton and Watford on Saturday.
Liverpool’s opening goal in the game came after just seven minutes, as Grant Hanley made an absolute mess of an attempted clearance and sliced the ball into his own net.
Following the own goal, and the rest of his performance, these Norwich fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the Scotsman…
James has called for him to be dropped.
Twitter: We must drop Hanley, McLean and Stiepermann for Newcastle imo #ncfc (@VrancicFC)
Alex wants him locked away!
Twitter: So, have we locked Grant Hanley away forever yet? #NCFC (@AlexCoatesy)
Russ wants to see him let go.
Twitter: Hanley needs to be let go he’s not good enough for this level. Desperate for Zimmerman & Klose to return. #ncfc tho… https://t.co/RRAsupGCy1 (@poppa_russ)
At least someone has seen the funny side…
Twitter: Pukki and Hanley. Joint top scorers in the premier league @g_c_slater @SnakePit_NCFC @BobRutler #ncfc (@rjw600)

Joe has questioned his leadership.
Twitter: Hanley, our ‘captain’, meant to be a leader for our young talent constantly standing there looking disappointed wit… https://t.co/1GURy6DVJR (@JoeHolden_)
Rebecca isn’t too pleased…
Twitter: Wow, Hanley is just the gift that keeps on giving ? #LIVNOR #ncfc (@bex2188)
Luke wants Zimmermann back.
Twitter: Own goal – bad luck, but Hanley also kicked the ball into his own face ffs. Get Zimbo back asap. #ncfc (@norfolk_luke)
READ NORWICH VERDICT
Norwich need to hope that Timm Klose or Ibrahim Amadou are fit to start against Newcastle next week, or more points are going to be dropped by Daniel Farke’s side.
Hanley ended up being Norwich’s fourth choice centre-back in the Championship and produced a very poor performance against Liverpool on Friday – even if you take away the own goal.
The Scottish defender, quite simply, isn’t good enough for the Premier League and Norwich will risk being beaten by Newcastle if they start him next week at Carrow Road.
