Norwich City will not be signing Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes this week.
According to Athletic journalist Michael Bailey, Norwich have opted against a deal to bring the forward to Carrow Road.
Rhodes has been heavily linked with a transfer to Norwich, after scoring nine goals on loan to the club last season.

Do Norwich have enough strikers?

Yes. Teemu Pukki proved that he knows how to find the back of the net last season, as he scored 30 goals in all competitions and was crowned PFA Championship Player of the Year.
Josip Drmic has been brought in from Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer and has already shown that he is capable of scoring goals – finishing pre-season as Norwich’s top scorer, with four.
Dennis Srbeny and Adam Idah are also on the fringes of the first-team, and both scored in pre-season for Daniel Farke’s side.
Rhodes would have been a solid addition to Norwich’s squad, but is unproven in the Premier League and could have been the third choice behind Pukki and Drmic in the pecking order.
The Scottish forward scored nine goals on loan to the club last season, with six in the league, but was unable to offer serious competition for Pukki’s place, which suggests that he would not have made a big impact in the Premier League for the Canaries.
