Norwich City will not be signing Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
According to Michael Bailey, of The Athletic, Ibrahim Amadou will be the club’s last significant arrival of the summer.
Despite claims of an accepted bid for Claude-Maurice, Bailey reports that he will not be moving to Carrow Road.

Although Claude-Maurice would have been an excellent signing for Norwich, as we explained in our piece on the news of a bid, the club are well-stocked in the wide areas.
Patrick Roberts and Emi Buendia are competing for the spot on the right, whilst there is a battle between Todd Cantwell and Onel Hernandez to start out on the left of the attacking trio behind Teemu Pukki.

With under 48 hours to go in the window, Norwich may find it difficult to secure a deal for another target, with clubs across the Premier League scrambling about to get their signings finalised before the deadline.
All things considered, Claude-Maurice would have been a good addition to Daniel Farke’s squad, but there is no need to panic and bring in another wide option for the sake of it.
Ralf Fahrmann, Patrick Roberts, Sam Byram, Josip Drmic and Ibrahim Amadou appear to be solid signings for the Canaries, as they look to avoid relegation back down to the Championship at the first time of asking.
