It feels as though the signing would go against what Stuart Webber has been speaking about, especially given the fact that he claimed Norwich would have the smallest budget in the league.
Claude-Maurice is clearly a talented player, which is backed up by his return of 14 goals in Ligue 2 from a wide left position last season. The 21-year-old has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal and West Ham, which suggests that he has the pedigree to play in the Premier League.
However, it could be a risky move for the club as they could potentially upset the balance in the squad by smashing their record to replace a current member of the squad.
