Norwich City are reportedly lining up a move for Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah as they look to bolster their squad.
According to Football Insider, both Norwich and Sheffield United are interested in signing Chalobah on loan before the end of the transfer window this week.
The report claims that the two sides are hoping to land him on a season-long loan from Watford, despite the window closing this Thursday at 5pm.

Given this reported interest in Chalobah, and links to Sevilla’s Ibrahim Amadou, Norwich are clearly in the market to strengthen their midfield options in the coming days.

A defensive midfielder would be a welcome addition to the squad, with Tom Trybull currently the only, available, option in that area of the pitch. This means that Chalobah would be an ideal signing, but there are concerns over his fitness.
Chalobah signed for Watford from Chelsea in the summer of 2017, but suffered an unfortunate knee injury in training in September of that year – ruling him out for the rest of the season.
The England international then struggled with knocks throughout the 2018/19 campaign, playing just seven Premier League matches for the Hornets throughout the year.
With only a few days left in the transfer window and Norwich’s apparent need for a defensive midfielder, it would be a risk to bring in a player who has only played 13 league matches in the last two seasons for Watford.
If Chalobah joins Norwich on loan and misses the majority of the games due to injury, it would be a big blow to the club’s chances of surviving in the Premier League.
