Norwich look set to miss out on the signing of Dwight Gayle this summer as Newcastle boss Steve Bruce confirms his intentions to keep hold of the striker.
According to the Shields Gazette, Bruce is not planning to offload Gayle this summer, despite the striker being the subject of interest from a number of sides following his fine campaign on loan with West Brom in the Championship last season.
The likes of Norwich, Aston Villa, Fulham and the Baggies were all said to be eyeing a move for the 28-year-old, who was out of favour under former Magpies boss Rafael Benitez.

Gayle was one of the standout strikers in the Championship last season, scoring 23 goals as the Baggies pushed for promotion to the Premier League.
The Canaries may now have to turn their attention elsewhere should Daniel Farke still look to pursue a striker, though the signing of Josip Drmic on a free transfer could be enough for the Norwich boss.
