Norwich City right-back Sam Byram has said that he is delighted to join the club after his move from West Ham.
The former Leeds defender has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Norwich, joining for a fee reported to be in the region of £750k.
He becomes Norwich’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Ralf Fahrmann, Josip Drmic and Patrick Roberts in adding to the club’s promotion-winning squad.
Byram says that he watched Norwich multiple times in the Championship last season and that the club’s style of play convinced him to sign.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Byram said this:
I’m delighted. It’s all happened quite fast and it’s been a quick turnaround. There’s been a lot of travelling to get out here to Germany but I’m just pleased I’m here now.
I heard about the interest a week or two ago. Obviously, I wasn’t in the plans for West Ham going forward and I needed a new challenge to go out and push on after last season.
When I heard Norwich were interested, I was really interested [because of] how the manager [Daniel Farke] had the team playing last year.
Byram played eight games on loan for Nottingham Forest during the second-half of last season, after suffering an injury at West Ham.
