West Brom have agreed a deal to recruit Filip Krovinovic from SL Benfica on a season-long loan deal, according to a report from The Express and Star, pipping Norwich City to his signature.
The 23-year-old playmaker, who had been linked with the Canaries, will be arriving in England in the next few days to confirm the switch, which is reportedly worth around £300,000 in instalments.
This amount could be significantly higher if the Baggies achieve promotion, however, due to a clause in the contract.
He is a product of Dinamo Zagreb’s youth academy, where many other great Croatians came before him. A few quality seasons earned him the move to Portugal with Rio Ave in 2015 and then in 2017 he caught the eyes of Benfica.

Krovinovic has severely struggled with injuries since his move to the Stadium of Light, though, hampering his development.
It looks as though he could play a vital role in the West Brown team under compatriot Slaven Bilic in their attempt to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
The Baggies are hoping that he will be confirmed before the side head off on their trip to Spain so that he can spend time with his new teammates in pre-season, with a move to Norwich now unlikely.
