Newcastle keen on move for Norwich’s Jon McCracken

Newcastle United are reportedly exploring a possible move for highly-rated Norwich City goalkeeper Jon McCracken.

According to Football Insider, the Magpies are keen on bringing the 19-year-old to St James’ Park this summer to bolster their goalkeeping options.

McCracken wasn’t included in a matchday squad at Carrow Road last season, with the Canaries clinching the Championship title with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa on the final day.

The Scotland youth international has yet to turn out in a first-team encounter after joining from Hamilton in 2016, featuring predominantly in the Under-23 side.

And McCracken’s impressive Premier League 2 performances have reportedly caught the eye of Newcastle officials.

Boss Daniel Farke looks set to be active in the market for a new number one ahead of the new season, with experienced keeper Tim Krul producing some inconsistent displays in the Championship.

And with Farke keen on adding to his options between the sticks, McCracken could be given the green light to depart Carrow Road, ending his three-year association with the club in the process.
