Norwich could face competition from Aston Villa in their chase for Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Gayle, who spent last season on West Bromwich Albion, looks likely to leave St James Park this Summer.
The forward notched over 24 goals for Albion in the Championship, as the Baggies narrowly missed out on promotion after defeat to Aston Villa in the playoff semi-finals.

Albion’s failure to gain promotion means that they are now unable to afford the forward, meaning that Norwich and Villa could swoop in to make a deal for the 28-year-old.
Newcastle are reportedly seeking over £20 million for Gayle, but both Norwich and Villa will try to bid lower to see what the Magpies will accept for the former Crystal Palace forward.
Norwich are looking to add to the attacking depth, with Teemu Pukki being the only first team striker at the club as it stands.
Villa are looking to sign a striker, with Tammy Abraham potentially staying at Chelsea next season thanks to their transfer ban.
