Darmstadt manager Dimitrios Grammozis has revealed that his club has option to sign Marcel Franke permanently, following Franke’s comments about playing in the Premier League.
Franke joined Norwich in the summer of 2017 from Greuther Furth and made five Championship appearances during the first month of the campaign.

However, he failed to impress and was shipped out on loan to Dynamo Dresden for the rest of the campaign, where he made 16 appearances in the second tier of German football.
Last summer, Franke was, again, out of favour and opted for a loan move to Darmstadt, where he has been a regular at the heart of the defence.
Franke recently claimed that he wanted to fight for his place in the Norwich squad, but he will not be able to do that if Darmstadt take up the option in his contract.
Grammozis said this when asked about Franke’s comments:
The fact is that we have a purchase option.
