Norwich City are reportedly eyeing up their first signing of the summer, with Rennes centre-back Mehdi Zeffane a primary target.
That’s according to Le 10 Sport, via the Mirror, who claim that the Canaries are hoping to agree a deal by early June.
Daniel Farke is looking to bolster his squad ahead of their return to the Premier League, following a superb season in the Championship that looks set to end in them being crowned champions.
Defences can often be shown up when teams make the leap up the divisions, so strengthening in that area makes sense.
Zeffane has made 29 appearances for Rennes this season and also has 11 caps for Algeria to his name.
The 26-year-old previously played for Lyon, spending his youth career there as well, up until his move to Rennes in 2015.
He is reportedly keen to play in England, and his current deal expires at the end of the season.
