PAOK CEO claims club missed out on top target Pukki
Lubos Michel, president of Greek club PAOK, claims Teemu Pukki was their number one target before he signed for Norwich last summer.
The Finland international forward has been in electric form for the Canaries this season, having scored 21 goals in 29 Championship games.
PAOK instead signed Chuba Akpom on a permanent deal from Arsenal in the summer, and the 23-year old former England youth international has scored five in 12 league games this campaign.
As reported by SDNA, Michel confirmed that prior to Norwich having signed Pukki, he was a prime target for the Greek outift. Talking to the Greek outlet, Michel said:
For me the first option was Pukki, but the case of Pukki was canceled and Akpom was the second choice.
