Jordan Rhodes has had a difficult couple of years recently following on from his successful spell at Blackburn Rovers.
After failing to make an impression in his short stint at Middlesbrough, Rhodes signed for Sheffield Wednesday for a club-record transfer. However, just 10 goals in 55 appearances left a lot to be desired.
As a result, Rhodes moved on again but this time only on loan, to Norwich City and the new number 11 has not looked back since with Daniel Farke explaining to the PinkUn, as cited on HITC, that he is in the right place for his career.
Jordan doesn’t need any more motivation. He is a big character. Maybe in the last few years he was struggling to play and be involved. For that reason, I think Norwich is the perfect place for him. He has a team and a coach and fans who love him. Our style of play suits him a lot.
This came after the Canaries’ thrilling 4-3 win over Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup, in which Rhodes himself scored a hat-trick.
This took the 28-year-old striker onto five goals for the season and Farke is pleased with how Rhodes has developed since his summer move.
His reaction after being left out (against Middlesbrough) was so good. He told me he enjoys it so much to play in this yellow shirt and with these lads. In terms of his quality on this level he has an unbelievable instinct inside the box.
Norwich fans have reason to be optimistic at the moment, which is something that has not been said too often in recent times. This is due to not only Rhodes rediscovering his goal touch but also because Farke’s side is now on the back of four straight wins in all competitions.
It is clear that Farke would want to make this move permanent next summer and if Rhodes can carry on this form then surely it would be a win-win for both parties.
