Norwich City have reportedly initiated contact with Dijon as they look to sign Julio Tavares on a season-long loan deal.
According to claims from HITC Sport, the Canaries have expressed a firm interest in making a move for the experienced forward as they look to further bolster their attacking ranks before the loan window slams shut.
Tavares is an established Cape Verde international and remains a key player for Ligue 1 outfit Dijon. However, a move to the Championship could be of interest to the player, with the likes of Norwich and Aston Villa said to be keen.

HITC’s report indicates that the Canaries are currently at the front of the queue in the race to secure Tavares’ services, with a loan deal on the cards before the end of the month.
Although, it’s also claimed that an option to buy clause could be included in any deal for the striker, with Dijon understood to be demanding a fee worth around £2.5m.
The 29-year-old found the net on 12 occasions for Dijon last season and has picked up where he left off in the new campaign.
Tavares has scored three goals in two games so far this season and has evidently caught the eye of a number of clubs with his displays up top.
