Norwich loan move for Rhodes falls through

Norwich’s loan move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes has fallen through, according to the Star.

Rhodes looked set to travel to Carrow Road to complete his season-long loan switch, but after talks broke down between the two clubs, the deal was cancelled at the eleventh hour.

According to the Star, financial terms could not be agreed between the Owls and the Canaries, and it isn’t known whether a deal can be resurrected.

The two clubs had already moved past the initial roadblock, with Wednesday dropping a £3million loan fee.

Wednesday also said they would subsidise a large portion of Rhodes’ wages, with the Scottish striker being one of their top earners.

The Canaries are desperate to strengthen their forward options this summer so will be disappointed that the deal fell through so late into negotiations.
