Norwich City legend Grant Holt has signed a deal with a local wrestling promotion, World Association of Wrestling (WAW).
Holt will start his wrestling training on Thursday and will combine it with his playing commitments. The legendary Norwich forward, who was a key player in the club’s rise from League One to the Premier League, played for Barrow in the National League last season.
Holt is scheduled to team up with Rory and Zak Knight, known as the UK Hooligans in the WAW, at Fightmare 3 in 2019. Rory and Zak are related to WWE Superstar Paige, who recently had to retire from wrestling due to injuries sustained in the ring.
Holt will be a big draw for the Norwich crowds, with the striker being well respected by City supporters since leaving the club in 2013.
