Maddison ruled out for eight weeks

Norwich City have confirmed that James Maddison will not require an operation his knee injury and that he is set to be out for eight weeks.

Maddison was seen on crutches after Norwich’s 5-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season, following an injury early on in the game.

The English midfielder was crowned Norwich’s player of the season last week, with 15 goals and 11 assists throughout the course of the season.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Maddison this summer and will be relieved to hear that their target has not been ruled out for a lengthy period of time.

It was feared that Maddison could be out for a number of months with injury, but he could now be back ahead of pre-season.
