Wes Hoolahan has been reflecting on an “emotional” week, as he prepares to bid farewell to Norwich City at the end of the season.
The experienced midfielder confirmed recently that he will be seeking pastures new ahead of the summer transfer window, with his final home game coming against Leeds United on Saturday.
Hoolahan is a fans’ favourite at Carrow Road and has served the club well during his ten-year stay in Norfolk.
As quoted by the club’s official website, the Irishman opened up on his gratitude and appreciation for the Canaries’ supporters following the confirmation that he will be leaving the Championship side.
It’s been a surreal and very emotional week. I’ve got a lot of messages. It’s sometimes hard to have so many nice Tweets and texts about you. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans one last time.

I really appreciate the support. I’ve had such a great connection with the fans and have had an amazing ten years.
Hoolahan admitted that one day, he’d be open to returning to Norwich in another role, which would certainly go down well with most sections of the club’s fan base.
I’d love to come back to the club one day. This club means the world to me. It’s been amazing and Norwich is a wonderful place.Every week you have 27,000 fans here. Everyone in the city is so nice and I just want to say ‘thanks very much’ because it’s been an amazing ten years.
When I finish with football, I’ll come back here and cheer the team on week-in, week-out from the stands. My son Noah is a big Norwich City fan, so I’ll have to come back for games!
The 35-year-old will hope to cap his Norwich career with a big win against Leeds at the weekend.
