Norwich City are considering a move for Newcastle United youngster Mackenzie Heaney after he spent time on trial at the club last week.
Chronicle Live report that the club are weighing up a move with the youngster set to leave St James’ Park.
Heaney is highly thought of at Newcastle United but is being let go as part of a youth restructure at the club ahead of next season.
The Premier League side released a host of young players from their Under-23s side last week.
The midfielder spent time at Norwich last week on trial in a bid to impress at the Championship outfit.
The report suggests that several clubs in the Football League are interested in a move for Heaney, so a deal would be considered as something of a coup for Norwich if they can get it over the line.
Heaney has yet to feature for the club’s senior side and made a handful of appearances in the Premier League 2.
