Daniel Farke warns Raggett he must step up
Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has warned Sean Raggett that the step up the football ladder will be his toughest yet, as reported by the Pink Un.
He has come from humble beginnings as he was playing for non-league side Dover City in 2016 but after some amazing performances at Lincoln City, he earned a move to the Championship club.
The defender wasn’t sent out on loan last month as he continues to build up his first-team experience at Carrow Road.
Grant Hanley, Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann are all currently above the young defender in the pecking order at the club so the decision to not send him out on loan will be a sensible one until the end of the season as he learns from the experienced trio.
The Norwich City boss spoke about the situation in a recent interview.
It was a difficult decision. There is a gap between his former level and the Championship. The question is, ‘How we close that?’ We got the feeling he is not on the edge of the 18 for the matchday squad but he has to use this time now to show he can operate on this level and be prepared for next season.
He continued talking about the youngster and he went on to add:
I want him close to the group so he can have this chance. There are many options for the centre back positions. We gave away Marcel Franke and Russell Martin, who can also play there, on loan because we feel Sean should be one of the four options.
He can be an important player in the next weeks.
