Shrewsbury extend Ben Godfrey’s loan

Norwich City have today confirmed that promising young midfielder Ben Godfrey’s loan deal at Shrewsbury Town has been extended until the end of the 2017/18 season.

The 19-year-old has been in good form for Shrewsbury so far this season and has established himself as a key player for the League One outfit.

Godfrey is held in extremely high esteem at Norwich and is admired by large sections of the fan base. There were calls for the Canaries to retain his services for the remainder of the season to add a different option to Daniel Farke’s ranks, but his loan has now been extended.

The versatile midfielder put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Carrow Road back in the summer, which is due to keep him at the club until August 2021.
