Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Hurst has spoken to the media about Ben Godfrey, who is on loan from Norwich City, and how he wishes to extend the teenager’s stay in Shropshire, according to Pinkun.
Godfrey has featured in most of Shrewsbury Town’s games in all competitions, as the Shrews sit second in League One, inside the automatic promotion spots behind Wigan Athletic.
Daniel Farke has spoken about a number of Premier League clubs being impressed by the youngster’s performances for Shrewsbury and are looking to sign him in the January transfer window, which is when his short-term loan at New Meadow is up, but Hurst hopes the defender can see the season out with the League One side.

Speaking to the media, Shrewsbury boss Hurst said, via the Punkin:
He’s done extremely well. What he is, and we have to remind ourselves, is a very, very young player.
It’s his first real spell of playing first-team football. He played at York as a 16-year-old and no disrespect to himself or York but he probably just ran around.
Now he knows what he is and what his profession is. He will go on and have a really, really good career.
So whatever happens in January, wherever he may be, he has a bright career ahead of him, and he may have a League One medal at the end of the season as a reward for his marvellous performances.
