Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has given the latest squad update ahead of his side’s clash against Bristol City at Carrow Road this weekend.
The Canaries host Bristol City as they look to extend their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.
Norwich will have to do without Russell Martin and Steven Naismith, though, as they remain sidelined.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Farke said this:
Russell is available but he won’t be in the squad. He wasn’t able to train for three and a half days this week. He had his first session today but it’s too soon for him to return.
There is no chance for Steven Naismith. He hasn’t been able to train for five days and is still having problems with his groin. He was in rehab today and will have a scan in the coming days.
Nelson Oliveira is also out. The forward is currently nursing a groin injury and is expected to return for next week’s trip to face Reading – live on Sky Sports.

The striker has scored four Championship goals this season, more than every other Norwich player combined.
Nelson was improved today. He won’t be available for tomorrow but we will see day-to-day how it develops. It could be too early for Middlesbrough but there is a small chance.
James Maddison sat out the win over Brentford in midweek with injury and Farke says that he is unlikely to start against Bristol City.
We thought James would be available [after coming off against Sheffield United] but he had some problems with his calves so he didn’t travel. He was in rehab for two days and trained today. It may be too early for the starting eleven but he should be okay.
This opens the door for Wes Hoolahan or Mario Vrancic to return to the starting XI in the league.
