Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has given the latest squad update ahead of the club’s trip to face Sheffield United away on Saturday.
To start with, there was some positive news regarding Alex Pritchard. The midfielder has suffered no set-backs in his rehabilitation from injury and is set to return to the first-team fold in January.
Speaking to Norwich’s website, Farke said this:
Pritchard is on track and is working really hard.
We expect him back in January perhaps. It’s really sad because he’s such an important player and he can score goals, create, assist and produce special moments.”

There was a massive blow, though, as Farke confirmed that Nelson Oliveira will be out for 12 days with a groin strain.
He had a scan on Thursday and we’ll have to do without him for at least the next 12 days, so he will miss tomorrow, Brentford and probably Bristol City.
Hopefully he can return before the next international break [at the beginning of October]. He felt a problem with his groin during the Burton game, and the problem has increased since. We had to check it on the scan, and it’s strained. Hopefully it won’t be longer than 12 days, but we’ve got to keep an eye on it. It’s bad news as he was in such good shape and was playing really well.
The forward will now miss, at least, the next three matches – leaving Cameron Jerome as the club’s only recognised striker.
Oliveira is Norwich’s top goalscorer this season with four goals. He has scored four of Norwich’s seven league goals, with Josh Murphy, Harrison Reed and an own goal from Lewis Grabban making up the seven.
Louis Thompson and Matt Jarvis remain long-term absentees.
