Norwich have leapt in front of a host of Championship clubs in the race to sign Marley Watkins.
The EDP report that the former Barnsley winger could join Norwich after rejecting a new deal with the fellow Championship outfit.
Watkins, now a free agent is attracting interest from Cardiff, Wolves, Aston Villa and Wolves after impressing for Barnsley this season.
The player is a versatile attacker who can play out wide or through the middle. He found the back of the net 10 times for the Barnsley throughout the course of this campaign.
Ipswich tried to sign the player twice during the January transfer window and it’s yet to be seen whether or not they will renew their interest during the summer window.
Norwich have previously expressed an interest in Barnsley’s Angus MacDonald, who has also caught the eye this season.
Watkins could be the first of many signings in what is expected to be a very busy summer for the East Anglian side.
