Norwich were eager to sign a new left-back during the January transfer window and agreed a fee with Sporting Lisbon for Marvin Zeegelaar but the deal fell through after they failed to agree personal terms.
Having settled on bringing in Ajax defender Mitchell Dijks on loan for the rest of the season and while it remains unknown whether he will stay permanently, the Canaries may be tempted back into a move for Zeegelaar.
According to O Jogo (h/t Sport Witness), Sporting want to offload a left-back or two in the summer because they have too many players at the position, and Zeegelaar will likely be the first out the door.
The 26-year-old has made just five appearances for the Liga NOS side since his move to Norwich fell through and is battling for game time with Bruno Cesar, Jefferson and Ricardo Esgaio.
Norwich saw a €3.75m accepted for the former Ajax youngster in January and a similar bid may be enough to prompt Sporting to part ways with the defender.
